Feedback Capture service and the Dance Connect Feedback browser extension (Chrome and Firefox) · Operator: CloudIndustry, Switzerland · Last updated 15 October 2026
What the extension does
When you click the extension icon on a website, you select an area of the page (or the whole visible page), write a note, choose a report type and save a bug report to a GitHub repository that you have access to and that is connected to the Feedback Capture GitHub App.
Data we process
- GitHub identity: your GitHub login and numeric user ID, from GitHub sign-in.
- GitHub user tokens: stored on our server, encrypted. They are used only to list connected repositories and to create, or find, the report issue as you. They are never sent to the extension or to websites.
- Report contents: screenshots of the areas you select, your notes, title and report type, the page address with secrets such as tokens removed, the page title, browser and viewport details, and, recorded only on that page after you click the icon: console errors, failed network requests (their address with secrets removed, method and status, never headers or bodies) and your recent clicks (the clicked element's tag, ID, test ID and role; never typed values or keystrokes). Known credential patterns are redacted.
- Log session ID: if the website publishes a pseudonymous log session ID for your visit, it is added to the report so the team can open the matching server logs. The report contains a link to the team's own log system; no report data is sent there.
Where it goes
Reports are sent to our server and written to the GitHub repository you choose: an issue, plus screenshots on that repository's feedback-assets branch. Access to them follows that repository's GitHub permissions.
Retention
- Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days. Signing out deletes the session.
- After a report is saved to GitHub, the server deletes its copy of the report contents. If saving fails, the contents are kept encrypted until you retry.
- The extension keeps your unsent draft (including small preview images of your screenshots, which are never uploaded) and session in the browser's local extension storage until you send, sign out or delete local data.
What we do not do
No analytics, no advertising, no sale of data, and no sharing with anyone other than GitHub as described above. The extension reads a page only after you click its icon on that page.
This website
feedback.cloudindustry.ch uses no cookies, no analytics and no external fonts or scripts. Cloudflare and our server process technical connection data to deliver the pages.
